My Plan

I am proud to be standing in this General Election as your Conservative Candidate.

I have been honoured to represent North Northumberland for the last 9 years and if re-elected I will campaign to deliver the priorities below for you and yours.

When I was first elected, I committed to fight for a Fair Share of Resources for our patch, because we had been forgotten for too long by Westminster. On my website is a summary of the main campaigns for resources, and battles to protect our amazing communities and livelihoods, which we have won.

  • Connectivity

    I pledged to get funding to start dualling the A1 through North Northumberland – and now I have delivered. I had already secured funding of £293 million and the preparatory works had been completed, and now the Secretary of State for Transport has approved the final Development Consent Order.

  • Health

    I am excited to see our new £35 million Berwick Infirmary being built, the first of a kind modular hospital. This is going to bring together in an efficient way GP provision alongside hospital care.

  • Environment

    We were the first Government to address sewage spills from storm overflows. We only know about the unacceptable spills because it’s the Conservatives who cared enough to check. In 2010, a pitiful 7% of overflows were monitored for sewage discharges. This is now 100%.

  • Education & Families

    I committed to modern new schools for our communities. Alnwick’s Duchess High was first in 2016, there are more places at Morpeth’s KEVI, and I will campaign for the new school buildings needed for Berwick, while pushing for the delivery of the new school in Amble.

  • Housing

    Getting the right housing in the right place is one of the challenges I want to tackle with the local council and central Government. We need to find the right ways to ensure our elderly have the care and support they need, and that families have the space.
