Anne-Marie Trevelyan, MP for Berwick-upon-Tweed, paid a visit to Addison Ross, a luxury goods company based in Wooler in her Northumberland constituency, to hear about their successes and plans to expand further.

The company, based on the Wooler Industrial Estate, manufactures goods luxury items such as photo frames here in Northumberland, exporting them globally.

The MP, who is also the Secretary of State for International Trade, was keen to know more about their exporting success and hear about their plans to grow their output.  She was invited to the factory by owners David and Sarah Ross, who she met last Friday along with their son Harry.

Ms Trevelyan heard how the company began in 1978 and now ships goods globally from Wooler and counts not only Fortnum & Mason and Liberty as customers but Saks Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdales with further stockists in Asia, the Middle East and South America. Their plans to expand their Wooler factory by almost 8,000ft to meet growing demand could provide another 7 jobs.

Speaking of the visit, Anne-Marie said:

“It is always wonderful when my Departmental brief collides with constituency work, and that was absolutely the case on Friday when I visited Addison Ross, a luxury goods manufacturer based in Wooler.  They make their high quality items from their factory complex in Wooler and export them to the world.

“It was great to meet owners Sarah and David Ross, and son Harry and go on a tour of the factory.  Addison Ross is a fabulous example of a Great British exporting success, in fact they are doing so well exporting globally, they are looking to expand in order to meet demand.”
