The Government have announced that around 6 million disabled people will receive a one-off £150 Cost of Living payment from 20 September, ensuring the most vulnerable have the support they need as we help people manage cost of living pressures.
Disabled people often face higher disability-related costs from care and mobility needs, so as we tackle global inflationary pressure we must tailor our support to protect those most in need.
That is why the Government have announced that, from 20 September, those being paid a qualifying disability benefit will automatically receive a one-off cost of living payment of £150 – as part of £1,200 of support for low-income benefit claimants.
These payments will ensure the most vulnerable in our society have the support they need to manage the cost of living - from fuel and transport to prescription costs.
